Based in the Chicago metropolitan area, we are dedicated to active participation in the Christian Orthodox Church. St. Raphael of Brooklyn embodies the spirit of Orthodox unity and love, a mission that Orthodoxy Today holds close to heart. As the first Eastern Orthodox bishop consecrated in North America, he worked tirelessly to make the Church a welcoming home for Orthodox Christians of all backgrounds. His leadership as bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church in Brooklyn extended beyond any single community, offering spiritual guidance to all who sought it across America.

Rejecting the division of communities along ethnic lines, St. Raphael emphasized the unity of faith. His work paved the way for a unified Orthodox witness in America, inspiring Orthodoxy Today to build a similar space for spiritual growth across jurisdictions. Just as he established places for worship and belonging, we aim to create an environment where Orthodox Christians can deepen their faith together.
